I thought of going back to work and working part-time to fulfill my desire for financial security. But part-time work was difficult to come across in my area. If this was the way forward, I would have to commute for 2 hours or more each work day.

That meant that it would take me away from my children for longer than necessary. It would have been tough to get back home in a hurry if one of the kids got ill.  Another disadvantage was that it would have been difficult to get time off work to attend school events. And the possibility of having time off during school vacations would have been impossible. The only option left was to look for  home based work online.
