  • The first column is the “Avg”

This gives you the number of searches per month. To find great keywords that will help your website to be found, use keywords that get about 100 searches per month. The higher the Avg number, the more traffic you will attract to your website.

You will probably notice that a lot of keywords have typos, phrases that don’t make sense, as well as alternative spellings of your keywords. The reason for this is that Jaaxy provides the exact words and phrases that people use when searching the internet.

Generally, there are two kinds of keywords; short-tail and long-tail. Short-tail keywords are common words or phrases. They usually consist of 1-3 words and are of a general nature. Some examples would be “shoes”, “football team”, and “get rich quick”.

Because short-tail keywords are so common and readily used by everyone, they attract a high amount of traffic. By the same token, they are more difficult for SEO as they have a high level of competition.

Long-tail keywords consist of 3 or more words. They can be very specific in regards to a topic, location, gender, etc. Examples would be ‘best chocolate cake recipes” “the nearest McDonald’s”, and “safest investments for retirees”.

To target this keyword phase, my blog post could provide explanations as to why cakes sink in the middle. One explanation could be “Large volumes of moist ingredients will result in a cake that’s wet and sinks in the middle.” Or “Oven temperatures that are too high can result in a cake that is dry around edges but sinks in the middle.”

I can then offer a solution to the problem. Solution: “For a tasty cake recipe that won’t sink in the middle, try my fabulous butter cake with lemon cream frosting. Download the recipe here.”
